Is Jamie Oliver Creating Revolution, or Just Good TV? - Borborygmi - GOOD
There’s hope that Oliver’s “Food Revolution” can be more than just the Che Guevara T-shirt of food politics—and more than just entertainment playing at social change.
Unsurprisingly, the critics and cynics have been less than kind, and certainly I understand why. But I’ve seen the program, I’ve watched Jamie’s recent TED talk, read all about his incredibly successful efforts in Britain, and he is nothing if not sincere. It just breaks my heart a little bit that our ravenous media culture devours the earnest and ruthlessly mangles idealism.
