A little help from our friends?
With the popularity of iTunes, the public is now very comfortable with 99ยข transactions and that acceptance and conversion rate is a key component…Our users can purchase ArmRev’s virtual currency in bulk and allocate micro-amounts to specific projects with the click of a mouse, eliminating tedious multi-step (shopping cart) checkouts. We expect these trends to change the landscape of social giving dramatically.

I recently worked on conceptualizing an interesting little project for a social-giving oriented mobile app. There were a lot of kinks to iron out, but the overall idea was really compelling to me. The Armchair Revolutionary idea seems to combine a Kickstarter-mentality with micro-transaction functionality, thereby enabling social innovation projects to literally get a little (.99 cents!) help from friends. Imagine if all the causes you’re a “fan” of enabled you to make small donations right in-line on Facebook? You’d totally do it, right? I’m really excited and eager to see the social web evolve in this direction.
